Former Labour Party Presidential aspirant in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi has taken to the streets of Abuja, leading a protest to the National Assembly over the proposed Electoral Amendment Bill.
Obi, accompanied by a large group of supporters, including prominent activist Aisha Yesufu, assembled at the entrance of the parliamentary complex to press for the inclusion of real-time electronic transmission of election results from polling units.

The demonstration comes amid growing public debate over the bill, which many civil society groups and youth organisations say is critical for ensuring transparency and credibility in future elections.
Security was heavily deployed around the National Assembly, with officers from the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and other paramilitary agencies strategically positioned to maintain order and prevent disruptions.
