Nigerian singer Niniola Apata has sparked concern among fans after appearing noticeably slimmer in her first public appearance since announcing the death of her husband, Michael Ndika, two months ago.
The Afro-house star resurfaced in a video shared online earlier in July and again on Saturday, prompting an outpouring of support from followers who said her appearance reflected the emotional weight of her loss.
In an Instagram Story, Niniola shared a throwback photograph alongside a heartfelt tribute, writing, “Michael… Loved me thick. You always loved me to be thick.”
She also expressed the pain of grieving, saying, “You should be here… Death visited me and tore me apart… Where do I start from? How do I navigate this new and unbelievable reality?”
Niniola had announced her husband’s death in May through emotional social media posts. The circumstances surrounding Ndika’s death have not been disclosed.
