Veteran Nollywood actor Owolabi Ajasa has dismissed widespread reports claiming he is dead, assuring fans that he is alive and in good health after a fake obituary poster circulated online.
The actor, widely recognised for portraying police officers in Yoruba films and for his popular catchphrase, “Ta lo pa chief?”, addressed the rumour in a video shared on his Instagram page on Friday.
In the video, Ajasa introduced himself and reassured supporters in Nigeria and abroad that there was nothing wrong with him. “I’m still much alive. I’m alive, hale and hearty,” he said, urging fans not to believe the false reports.
He also condemned those responsible for spreading the fake obituary, saying, “To everyone posting my obituary around, I’m saying back to the sender to you and your family.”
The incident sparked concern among fans before the actor publicly confirmed that the reports of his death were entirely false.
