Award-winning Afrobeats singer Davido has explained why he does not believe in distancing himself from people or maintaining a carefully packaged celebrity image, saying his personality and upbringing have shaped his approach to fame.
Speaking about his lifestyle, the singer said many artists are expected to “package” themselves and appear less accessible, but insisted he prefers to remain authentic.
Davido dismissed concerns about the Nigerian expression “see finish,” which suggests that excessive familiarity can reduce respect, expressing confidence that his success and relevance will remain intact.
According to him, God has blessed him and what works for him may not necessarily work for others.
He also reflected on his childhood, revealing that he grew up as the youngest of five children in a large family alongside many cousins, an environment that made him comfortable being around people.
