Actor and filmmaker Emmanuel Ikubese has spoken about the collapse of his marriage to celebrity makeup artist Anita Adetoye, describing it as a painful turning point in his life.
The couple, who tied the knot in March 2020 in a widely publicised ceremony, parted ways less than a year later, drawing public attention.
Speaking on the Archives of Becoming Podcast, Ikubese said the breakup left him feeling like a failure, particularly as he had always desired a stable family life.
He noted that the high-profile nature of the wedding made the outcome more difficult to process, intensifying his sense of disappointment.
According to him, the experience forced him into deep reflection about his identity and purpose.
He added that the emotional setback led him to reconnect with God, describing the period as a painful but necessary reset that reshaped his outlook on life and career.
