A Nigerian lady has sparked conversation online after recounting an awkward date experience that quickly went viral on X, formerly Twitter.
The woman, identified as @ifetemini, revealed that things took an unexpected turn when her date excused himself while she was almost done eating — and failed to return for over 10 minutes.
Worried he might have ditched her, she asked the waiter for the bill and prepared to pay.
Just as she was about to settle it, the man reappeared and explained that his car alarm had gone off and he was trying to locate something.
He then questioned why she requested the bill, prompting her to admit she thought he had fled.
She said she noticed disappointment on his face and apologised repeatedly. However, the aftermath was worse.
According to her, the man stopped communicating after the date, citing trust issues and doubts about her judgment.
