‘Oversabi Aunty’ Earns N382.9m in Cinemas in 11 Days

Nollywood comedy ‘Oversabi Aunty’ has boasted of an impressive performance at the Nigerian box office, raking in N382.9 million within 11 days of its release to rank as the second biggest film of the weekend.

Distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, the movie has continued to attract large audiences across cinemas nationwide, reflecting its growing popularity and strong reception among moviegoers.

FilmOne acknowledged the milestone in a post on its official Instagram page, thanking audiences across West Africa for their support. The distributor noted that the film had surpassed N380 million in box office revenue in just 11 days, cementing its position as one of the top-performing Nollywood titles currently showing in cinemas.

Oversabi Aunty follows the story of a well-intentioned but overly involved aunty whose attempts to solve everyone’s problems spiral into humorous misunderstandings and emotional revelations.

The film generated early excitement following its advanced screening on December 18, which helped build momentum ahead of its nationwide cinema release on December 19.

Featuring an all-star cast that includes Mike Ezuruonye, Efe Irele and Enioluwa Adeoluwa, the film has continued to gain traction as audiences respond positively to its blend of comedy and heartfelt storytelling.

In a post on social media, Abraham wrote, “Honestly, I can’t thank God and you my amazing fans enough. Without your love and support, I am nothing.

“Achieving this kind of milestone in just 11 days is HUGE for me! What took 3 weeks before, we’ve now done in 11 days. Eshey! Modupe ganni!

“Oversabi Aunty is still hot and showing in cinemas nationwide. Please go watch it and tell others. It’s not just a movie it’s a super story packed with real life lessons.”
