Afrobeats singer, Korede Bello, has sparked public debate after advising couples to have more children, arguing that larger families increase the chances of raising exceptional talents.
In a recent video message shared on May 6, 2026, Bello referenced late music icon Michael Jackson as an example, noting that he was the seventh child in his family.
He suggested that limiting childbirth could reduce the possibility of producing geniuses, saying many couples today now opt for one or no child due to economic challenges.
Bello questioned the long-term impact of the declining birth rate, adding that it is becoming rare to see young families with three or more children. While acknowledging financial pressures, he urged society to reconsider its approach to family size.
“What if Michael Jackson’s mother had stopped at two or six kids? We need more Michael Jacksons,” he said.
The comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some agreeing and others calling it unrealistic in the current economic climate.
