Iran has launched a new wave of missile and drone attacks across the Middle East, escalating tensions in the region just hours after United States President Donald Trump indicated possible progress in diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
The latest strikes, carried out early Wednesday, targeted Israel as well as locations hosting US forces in Kuwait, Jordanand Bahrain, according to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, which described the weapons used as “precision-guided” missiles and drones.
The conflict, which began on February 28 following joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran, has rapidly expanded across the region, disrupting global energy markets and aviation networks.
In Israel, rocket trails were seen streaking across the skies of the coastal city of Netanya, while air raid sirens sounded across central areas. In Kuwait, a drone strike hit a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, triggering a fireball. Jordanian authorities reported falling shrapnel near the capital, Amman, as warning sirens also rang out in Bahrain.
The widening conflict has begun to affect Gulf nations traditionally viewed as stable hubs, with attacks impacting tourism and severely disrupting international air travel.

The crisis has also intensified in Lebanon, where Israeli forces have expanded ground operations toward the Litani River, targeting positions linked to Iran-backed Hezbollah.
In Sahel Alma, north of Beirut, destruction from a recent explosion left buildings damaged and streets littered with debris. Residents described growing fear among civilians.
“We have two-year-old children scared and crying and going through this,” local resident Gaia Khouiri told AFP.
According to Lebanese authorities, at least 1,072 people have been killed and over one million displaced since the escalation began
Israeli airstrikes also continued overnight in Beirut’s southern suburbs, a known Hezbollah stronghold, leaving significant damage to residential buildings and surrounding infrastructure.
