The Federal Government has expressed its readiness to collaborate with the United States (US) and other international partners to eliminate remaining terrorist and criminal elements within Nigeria.
Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, made the statement during a global press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.
Acknowledging the country’s security challenges, Idris emphasised that the threats are not directed at any specific religion or group, dismissing claims based on “faulty data.”
He highlighted that over the past two years, President Bola Tinubu has reinforced efforts to tackle insecurity, pointing to improvements in Nigeria’s ranking on the Global Terrorism Index and the recent overhaul of the country’s security leadership.
Idris urged the U.S. and other nations to support President Tinubu in confronting the menace of criminals and terrorists that continue to disrupt the daily lives of Nigerians.
“The Nigerian government is willing to work with other international bodies, including the United States, to ensure that criminals are permanently wiped out.
