Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that global music icon Rihanna remains his dream international collaborator despite believing the partnership may not happen anytime soon.
Speaking during a live interview on Twitch with host @Theboyfromojo, the singer said Rihanna tops his list of artists he would love to work with but noted that she is currently focused on her thriving business empire rather than music.
“Rihanna is my dream collab, but she’s not into music again. She makes billions from her makeup business now,” Davido said, adding that they would create “dope music” together if the opportunity arose.
The singer also acknowledged Rihanna’s admiration for his catalogue, recalling how she previously described his hit song Unavailable, featuring Musa Keys, as her favourite track.
Davido responded to the praise by affectionately referring to the Barbadian superstar as “my Ri Ri.” Rihanna’s last studio album, Anti, was released in 2016.
