The Oyo State Government is set to distribute thousands of free tickets to young people across the state for Davido’s upcoming ‘5ive Tour’ concert in Ibadan.
The initiative is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to engage youths and support the creative and entertainment industry.
The tickets will be available from 9am on Saturday, November 8, at the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, located in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ibadan.
Officials have emphasised that tickets will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, and they urged music fans to arrive early to secure their places.
Davido, one of Nigeria’s most celebrated music stars, is performing in Ibadan as part of his nationwide tour, which started in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, then moved to Yola and Enugu, before wrapping up in Lagos in December.
The singer has expressed enthusiasm about returning home to perform after his international tour, noting the special connection he has with Nigerian fans.
A spokesperson for the Oyo State Government highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating that it is designed not just to entertain, but to create opportunities for young people to participate in cultural events and experience live music safely.
“This programme reflects our commitment to youth empowerment and the creative economy,” the spokesperson said.
Security and crowd management measures will be in place during ticket distribution to ensure a smooth process.
Fans are advised to follow official guidelines and arrive early, as large crowds are expected.
The Ibadan concert is seen as a key moment for the city’s cultural calendar this year, promising a dynamic live experience with performances of both popular hits and fan favourites.
It also signals growing collaboration between state authorities and the entertainment industry to promote youth engagement and economic opportunities through arts and music.
With excitement building across Oyo State, music lovers are gearing up for a memorable night, while the free ticket initiative ensures that more young people have access to live entertainment without financial barriers.
