Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has explained why his wife is not the first person he turns to during difficult moments, saying men are naturally conditioned to shoulder challenges while protecting those around them.
Speaking in a recent interview, the actor said his instinct as a man is to step forward in dangerous situations and ensure the safety of others, stressing that such responsibility comes without excuses.
However, he maintained that men should not suppress their emotional struggles and should instead build dependable support systems.
Okanlawon revealed that he usually reaches out to his therapist or mentor first, as both remain on speed dial whenever he faces personal challenges.
He added that when situations become overwhelming, he turns to his wife for support despite her responsibilities of managing her own work and caring for their family.
The actor said seeking help remains important for every man facing emotional difficulties.
