Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has criticised former Senate President David Mark over infrastructure development, insisting that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has achieved more in road construction within three years than previous years of national leadership.
Speaking on Thursday during the commissioning of the Interchange at the Arterial Road N16–Ring Road II Junction connecting Jahi and Gwarimpa in Abuja, Wike said improved road delivery under the current administration had transformed movement and access across affected communities.
Referencing the Akwanga-Makurdi road project, he argued that the route remained in poor condition during Mark’s time in office and claimed residents struggled to travel while leaders relied on alternative means.
Wike also defended the administration’s broader development agenda, stressing that ongoing investments extend beyond roads to water infrastructure projects across satellite towns, including recently completed works in Karu and another scheduled for commissioning in Bwari.
