Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has criticised men who forcefully bring their wives back after disagreements, saying that marriage should not be enforced by coercion.
The actress made the remarks while commenting on the ongoing public discussion around Regina Daniels and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
According to Etinosa, forcing a spouse to stay in a relationship against their will is both unwise and harmful.
Posting on her Instagram page, she described such behaviour as foolish and questioned how men who do this could expect to live peacefully under the same roof.
“Some men are very foolish! After using oppression to forcefully bring your wife back to the house, will you be comfortable sleeping in that house and eating that same woman’s food?” she wrote.
She stressed that consent is essential in marriage, emphasising that “No means No” applies not just to personal boundaries but to all aspects of a relationship.
Etinosa highlighted that forcing a partner undermines trust and respect, which are crucial for a healthy marriage.
The Nollywood star’s comments have attracted attention on social media, where fans and followers have expressed support for her view.
Many praised her for openly addressing issues of autonomy and respect in marriage, which they say are often ignored in Nigerian society.
Etinosa’s statement comes as Regina Daniels continues to navigate her publicised separation from Ned Nwoko.
The actress also noted that marriage should be built on mutual respect and understanding rather than fear or force, urging couples to prioritise dialogue and emotional well-being.
