Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has officially announced his intention to run in the 2027 elections.
Obi made the declaration during a discussion on X Spaces on Sunday evening.
The former Anambra State governor emphasised that he will not accept a role as a running mate to any candidate.

He explained that his experience and political journey were not meant to culminate in serving as vice president, signaling his commitment to seeking the top office.
“I am not travelling round the world to learn governance to be Vice president,” Obi said.
“I know how to turn Nigeria around. I built my business from scratch and have more experience than any candidate, including the sitting President.
“Peter Obi will be on the ballot in 2027. I need your support. I need your prayers.”
