Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has spoken publicly about her political achievements, describing herself as a silent worker who prefers results over self-praise while reflecting on her years in public service.
Speaking during a recent interview with journalists, Tinubu said she felt compelled to respond after being put on the spot, noting that her record speaks for itself.
She highlighted that she had contested and won elections and remains the first woman in Nigeria to be elected to the Senate three times.
The First Lady pointed to her three consecutive terms representing Lagos Central Senatorial District as evidence of sustained public trust and commitment to governance.
Tinubu maintained that her approach to leadership has always centred on action rather than public recognition, stressing that she does not promote herself despite her achievements.
She served in the National Assembly for several years before becoming First Lady following the election of President Bola Tinubu, a role in which she continues to emphasise service-driven leadership.
