A Nigerian woman has triggered widespread debate on social media after revealing that her partner demanded a refund of ₦3 million he sent her to buy food items.
The lady, identified as @justmercy on X, said her partner, who works in Ghana, sent the money for groceries and household supplies.
According to her, she spent the funds on food items, added her own money to complete the shopping, and sent photos of everything she bought to him.
However, she said the man became upset after seeing the items and accused her of exaggerating food prices in Nigeria.
Despite her explanation that inflation has significantly driven up costs, he reportedly refused to believe her.
“When I got home, I took pictures of everything and sent them to him. I even added my own money, but he is now asking for a refund,” she wrote.
The post has attracted over 300,000 views, with users sharply divided over whether ₦3 million was reasonable.
