Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, has commenced a high-level visit to the United States aimed at advancing economic growth, attracting foreign investment, and expanding bilateral trade opportunities for the state.
The trip forms part of Plateau State’s broader push to strengthen international partnerships at the sub-national level and is in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
While in the U.S., the governor is expected to hold strategic engagements with major American institutions, including the United States Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), officials of the U.S. State Department, as well as other policy makers and investment stakeholders.
Shortly after his arrival, Governor Mutfwang met with U.S. Congressman Riley Moore, where discussions focused on enhancing Nigeria–United States cooperation, with particular attention to economic collaboration, investment opportunities, security, and the promotion of democratic governance.
At the meeting, the governor outlined the core objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing its emphasis on improving the welfare, security, and overall prosperity of Nigerians.
He also briefed his host on ongoing efforts to tackle insurgency and strengthen national security.
Congressman Moore, in response, welcomed the Plateau governor and expressed readiness to support stronger ties between both countries, noting the importance of partnerships that deliver mutual benefits in investment and development.
Governor Mutfwang thanked the U.S. government for its continued cooperation and reaffirmed Plateau State’s commitment to deepening collaboration in key areas such as investment, development, security, and people-to-people relations.
