Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has shared the surprising story behind the creation of her hit song Beggie Beggie, revealing that the track was inspired during a public bus journey.
Speaking on the Creatorium Podcast, the singer disclosed that the idea came after she overheard a woman reacting to a beggar inside the bus.
According to Ayra Starr, the phrase instantly stayed in her mind and later became the title and inspiration for the song.
The Mavin Records artiste also reflected on how her creative process has evolved since the release of her debut album.
She explained that while her earlier songs were heavily emotion-driven, she now focuses more on experimenting with sounds and exploring fresh musical ideas.
