Hundreds of Muslims from across northern Nigeria joined Christians at a Christmas service held at Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry in Kaduna, underscoring a strong message of interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence.
The church’s General Overseer, Pastor Yohanna Buru, said Muslim participation in the annual Christmas celebration has become a long-standing tradition, now in its 15th year.
According to him, attendees travelled from all 19 northern states and included Muslims from different sects such as Tijjaniyya, Shi’ite groups under the Islamic Movement, and Sunni Muslims.
Buru explained that the gathering was organised to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ while promoting unity, peace and mutual respect among different faiths.
He added that Muslim delegations presented gifts to the church as symbols of friendship and solidarity.
Islamic scholars and community leaders at the event urged Nigerians to embrace religious tolerance, pray for peace, and discourage youth from engaging in violence or spreading misinformation.
