Nigerian gospel artiste Frank Edwards has joined millions worldwide in mourning the passing of legendary American gospel singer and worship leader, Dr Ron Kenoly, who died at 81.
Sharing his grief online, Edwards described Kenoly’s death as a “Heaven’s gain,” expressing gratitude for the music and spiritual impact the late icon left behind.
Born on December 6, 1944, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Kenoly rose to global prominence in the 1990s with his energetic, scripture-filled worship songs, including Ancient of Days, Jesus Is Alive, and Lift Him Up.
His music became a staple in churches, conferences, and prayer meetings across continents, inspiring generations of worshippers and gospel artists.
Kenoly also served as pastor and worship leader at Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose, California, and was revered for his teachings on worship, leadership, and spiritual growth.
While details of his passing remain private, tributes have flooded in, celebrating his enduring legacy and transformative ministry.
He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
