Football fans all over Nigeria and those in the diaspora are seemingly confident about the qualification of the National football team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

These are six reasons why supporters believe the team will make it ahead of South Africa and Benin:

First, Nigeria’s attack remains one of Africa’s strongest. It is a great one that is powered by Osimhen’s methods when finishing and Lookman’s astounding creativity.

Second, the younger players like Gift Orban and Raphael Onyedika have given the fans more hope and confidence about their added energy and depth.

Furthermore, the team’s new technical crew has helped in restoring the team’s discipline and purpose which is being displayed in the team’s play.

Also, Nigeria’s solid record in qualifiers, especially against countries like South Africa, gives the players as well as the fans the psychological advantage.

Additionally, the NFF’s (Nigerian Football Federation) renewed focus on welfare and logistics has boosted the morale of the players, thereby, making the players and fans more confident about qualifying.

Finally, the trademark resilience of the Super Eagles, that never-say-die spirit, has always helped them in the past to push through tough games and emerge victorious and everyone is confident in their ability to push through once again.

CAF also stated, concerning the FIFIA World Cup Qualifiers Group C, that “…Nigeria will qualify should they defeat Benin and South Africa fail to win against Rwanda, Nigeria will need to beat Benin by 3 or more goals”.

If the team maintains focus, Nigeria’s qualification is all but sealed and everyone is anticipating, with bated breaths, to witness this victory.
