Nigerian street-pop singer Portable has criticised Christian leaders over their response to ongoing attacks on worshippers, accusing them of silence and inaction.
His remarks follow renewed outrage after reports of a Palm Sunday attack in Jos, Plateau State, allegedly carried out by suspected militia groups, which has reignited concerns over targeted violence against Christians.
In a video circulating online, the “Zazu” crooner questioned why pastors have not publicly spoken out or mobilised protests despite the killings.
Portable alleged hypocrisy among church leaders, claiming many prioritise personal security, including bulletproof vehicles, while failing to defend their congregations.
He further compared the situation with other religious groups, arguing that leaders in those communities would react more forcefully under similar circumstances.
His comments have since sparked debate across social media, with mixed reactions trailing his outspoken remarks nationwide.
