A viral story circulating on social media has sparked reactions after a Nigerian woman allegedly printed obituary posters for her husband while he was still alive abroad.

According to reports shared online, the man had been living in Italy for years, sending money home to support his family and finance properties.

Trouble reportedly began after relatives were informed that he had collapsed overseas and could no longer be reached through his Nigerian phone line.

The woman allegedly informed neighbours and church members that her husband had died, prompting condolence visits and donations.

Obituary posters were also reportedly displayed across the neighbourhood as burial plans began.

However, residents were left shocked when the man allegedly returned to Nigeria alive and healthy days later through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

The incident reportedly escalated after claims emerged that nearly ₦4 million had been collected in condolence donations before his unexpected return sparked confusion and outrage online.
