The United States has unveiled a priority visa appointment system for fans holding tickets to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as preparations intensify for the global tournament scheduled for June 11 to July 19
.Under the new initiative, known as the FIFA Prioritised Appointment Scheduling System, or “FIFA Pass”, ticket holders will be able to request faster visa interview slots ahead of the competition.
The move is aimed at easing visa backlogs, particularly in countries where appointment wait times are long.
he 2026 World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, with the US hosting 78 matches across 11 cities, including the final in New Jersey.
US officials stressed that while the FIFA Pass speeds up appointment access, it does not guarantee visa approval, as all applicants must still pass full security checks.
Citizens of Visa Waiver Programme countries will continue to travel under ESTA rules.
