Veteran Nollywood actress and evangelist Eucharia Anunobi has announced plans to take legal action against cleric Psalm Okpe over claims that they were in a romantic relationship for more than five years.
The dispute followed the circulation of a viral audio recording in which Okpe and another pastor made explicit statements about alleged past relationships involving Anunobi.
Reacting publicly, the 60-year-old preacher strongly denied ever dating Okpe, describing the allegation as false, malicious, and deeply damaging to her reputation.
She stated that she has lived a celibate life since being ordained into ministry nearly 14 years ago.
While admitting she has been engaged and in courtship during that period, Anunobi insisted that none involved sexual relations.
She said the claims have caused her emotional distress and threatened the integrity of her ministry.
Anunobi confirmed that her lawyers have initiated legal proceedings and petitions to Nigerian authorities and US agencies, demanding that Okpe prove his allegations in court.
