Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has publicly accused a Lagos-based man of allegedly pirating her movie Where Love Lives and causing its demonetisation online.
In a series of posts on social media, Ademoye claimed that an individual identified as Emmanuel Davis of Lagos Sounds unlawfully uploaded and claimed ownership of a song used in the film.
She explained that the song was specially composed by an artist, Uzor, exclusively for the movie and was never released publicly to avoid piracy.
According to the actress, the alleged uploader asserted copyright ownership over the song, leading to the takeover of the film’s monetisation and unauthorised earnings from the project.
Ademoye described the action as deeply unfair and stressed that she would never claim rights to work that does not belong to her.
She vowed to pursue the matter legally until accountability is ensured. She also named another alleged pirate, Anwuli, whom she accused of causing the removal of a separate film that had recorded over six million views online.
