Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested Gafaru Rasaki for the unlawful possession of four human heads in the Sagamu area of the state.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement released on Thursday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi.
Babaseyi said the suspect was apprehended by officers of the Shakura Division on 21st January 2026. During interrogation, Rasaki reportedly confessed to exhuming the human remains from a cemetery.
The statement reads: “On the 21st of January, 2026, operatives of the Shakura Division arrested one Gafaru Rasaki in possession of four human heads.
“Upon interrogation and thorough investigation, it was revealed that the suspect unlawfully exhumed the human remains from a cemetery, an act amounting to disregard for corpses and a serious violation of the law.”
Babaseyi added that the recovered exhibits have been secured and that the suspect was promptly charged to court following the conclusion of investigations.
