The University of Ibadan (UI) has published the official schedule of undergraduate school fees for the 2024/2025 academic session, giving prospective and returning students a clearer picture of the financial requirements ahead of the new academic year.

The fee structure, obtained by The Nigeria Education News, applies to all undergraduate programmes and covers academic, administrative, utility, and technology-related charges.

University authorities explained that while the approved amounts are valid for the 2024/2025 session, they may be reviewed in subsequent years depending on institutional demands and prevailing economic realities.

As part of the admission process, all newly admitted undergraduates are required to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of ₦50,000, regardless of course of study.

Students who are allocated on-campus accommodation are also expected to pay ₦60,000 as hostel fees, subject to the availability of bed spaces.

Engineering programmes attract some of the highest fees, reflecting the cost of laboratories, workshops, and technical facilities.

Civil Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, and Wood and Biomaterial Engineering are each priced at ₦281,500, while Automotive Engineering (Direct Entry) attracts a slightly higher fee of ₦283,000.

Science-based courses also fall within a similar range due to laboratory use and other technical requirements. Industrial Chemistry is pegged at ₦241,500, while Mathematics and Chemistry each cost ₦281,500 for the session.

In the health and medical sciences, Nursing Science and Veterinary Medicine are both listed at ₦281,500, placing them in the same bracket as other science and engineering programmes.

Fees are comparatively lower in the arts, education, and social sciences. English Education is set at ₦226,500, Law at ₦177,500, and Economics at ₦176,500.

Counselling and Human Development Studies attracts ₦174,500, while Agricultural Economics, due to its practical components, is priced at ₦281,500.

University sources attributed the variations in fees to programme-specific needs such as laboratory work, field practicals, studio usage, and technology support.

Embedded within the total charges are utility fees of ₦20,000 and technology fees of ₦20,000.

Students and parents have been advised to consult official university channels for confirmations and updates, as the current breakdown reflects the approved fees for the 2024/2025 academic session and may be subject to future adjustments.
