Toyin Abraham has expressed sorrow over the abduction of pupils, students and teachers in Oyo State, calling for urgent action to end rising insecurity. In a statement shared on Instagram, the actress described the attacks as heartbreaking and said no Nigerian child should live in fear of going to school.
Abraham said the violence in Oyo felt personal because of her strong ties to the state through family and culture. She sympathised with grieving families and parents whose children were abducted during the attacks in Oriire Local Government Area.
While commending security agencies and the state government for their efforts, she urged authorities to intensify operations to rescue victims still in captivity and prevent future attacks.
The actress also called on Nigerians to unite against violence, stressing that insecurity should never become normal in any community across the country.
