The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has effected another reduction in the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS), popularly called petrol lowering the cost by N20 per litre.

Checks revealed that petrol is now selling at N815 per litre at NNPCL retail outlets, down from the previous price of N835.

The new rate has already taken effect at several NNPCL filling stations in Abuja, including outlets in Wuse Zones 4 and 6, along the Keffi–Abuja Road, and on the Kubwa Expressway.

The latest price adjustment was implemented on Sunday evening, according to findings.

Despite the reduction, the N815 per litre price remains N79 higher than the N739 per litre currently sold at MRS filling stations nationwide, which are supplied by the Dangote Refinery.

NNPCL had earlier, on December 19, 2025, cut the pump price of petrol by N80 to N835 per litre. The earlier reduction came amid intensifying competition in the downstream oil sector, following Dangote Refinery’s decision to slash its gantry price to N699 per litre, triggering a price war among market players.
