Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Adekunle Olopade, has narrated his harrowing encounter with officers of the Nigerian Police Force, alleging that he was kidnapped, harassed, and handcuffed for several hours in Lagos.
Adekunle, who participated in the Level Up edition of the popular reality show, took to his social media page on Wednesday night to share details of the incident.
According to him, the ordeal lasted for about eight hours, during which he was allegedly held against his will and subjected to rough treatment.
“What a night! I was kidnapped, harassed, and handcuffed by the Nigerian Police Force in the last eight hours. This story could have been a completely different one, and no one would have known. But glory be to God, I’m alive today,” Adekunle wrote in a post that quickly went viral across X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
His account reignited conversations around the recurring issue of police brutality and the slow pace of reform within the force.
Although Adekunle did not reveal the exact location where the incident occurred, close associates confirmed that it happened within Lagos State.
He was stopped at night by uniformed officers who allegedly forced him into a police van after questioning him about his identity.
Social media users flooded his comment section, expressing relief that he survived the encounter.
“This could have ended differently. We’ve lost too many young Nigerians this way,” one commenter wrote, reflecting the growing fear of arbitrary arrests and harassment.
Adekunle, who has largely stayed away from controversy since leaving the BBNaija house, described the experience as a “wake-up call,” urging authorities to protect citizens rather than endanger them.
“No one should go through this and come out the same,” he wrote, ending his post with a plea for justice.
