Nigerian singer Sky B has opened up about the intense pressure young artistes face in the music industry, revealing a startling episode from his early career.
The singer admitted that in 2007, driven by ambition to succeed like Don Jazzy and Mo’Hits Records, he sent a friend to secure the contact of the Illuminati, a move he believed could fast-track his rise to fame.
Sky B claimed that his friend actually obtained the contact, and noted that several artistes from his era reportedly joined the group and went on to achieve significant success.
Reflecting on the period, he described the overwhelming pressure of seeing peers rise quickly while struggling to make a name for himself.
Despite the temptation, Sky B said he ultimately chose a different path, prompting personal reflection on the price of fame, ethics, and life choices.
His revelation has sparked online debate about the harsh realities young artistes face in Nigeria’s competitive music scene.
