A dramatic adultery and assault case has unfolded before the Matero Local Court in Lusaka, involving a serving army officer and a man accused of being his wife’s lover.
The complainant, identified as Officer Kay, told the court that he returned unexpectedly to his matrimonial home on September 26, 2025, and allegedly found Dickson Musopelo in his bedroom with his wife, Melody Kuliwa.
The officer claimed the discovery led to a violent confrontation in which he was assaulted, prompting him to report the matter to the police.
Musopelo, however, denied the allegation, insisting he acted in self-defence. He told the court he had gone to the house believing Kuliwa was separated from her husband and hid in a wardrobe when the officer arrived.
He alleged the officer became aggressive, leading to a struggle. The case is being heard by Magistrate Victora Mututwa.
