The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its ongoing warning strike, calling on the Federal Government to promptly resolve all outstanding issues under the 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement.
ASUU President Chris Piwuna made the announcement during a news conference in Abuja, following an emergency meeting of the union’s National Executive Council (NEC).
The union stated that the strike suspension takes effect from midnight on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

He further appealed to patriotic Nigerians and education stakeholders to pressure the government to accelerate renegotiations of the 2009 agreement and resolve other pending issues.
