The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested more than 100 persons, including Lagos socialite and club owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, during a midnight raid on Proxy Night Club, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the operation was carried out in the early hours of October 26 following credible intelligence that a drug party was being held at the venue.

Babafemi said NDLEA operatives, who had infiltrated the party around 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, disrupted the gathering at about 3 a.m. on Sunday in line with the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

During the raid, cartons of illicit drugs including Loud (a potent strain of cannabis) and canisters of laughing gas were recovered from both party attendees and the club’s storage area.

All arrested suspects were taken into custody for screening and further investigation.

In a separate development, NDLEA operatives intercepted a consignment of cocaine and methamphetamine concealed in export goods bound for the United Kingdom.

The agency disclosed that 70 parcels of cocaine, cleverly hidden within the walls of cocoa butter body cream containers, were discovered at the export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos.

Follow-up operations across the state led to the arrest of three suspects connected to the attempted shipment.

The NDLEA reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying intelligence-led operations and ensuring that traffickers and consumers of illicit drugs face the full weight of the law.
