Former Daily Show host Trevor Noah has drawn sharp backlash from US President Donald Trump following a joke delivered during the 68th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
While hosting the ceremony, Noah quipped that artists desire a Grammy almost as much as Trump “wants Greenland,” adding a controversial reference to Jeffrey Epstein’s island and former US presidents.
The remark appeared to strike a nerve with Trump, who responded on his Truth Social platform by branding Noah a “talentless” host and threatening legal action.
Trump said he would instruct his lawyers to sue the comedian, escalating the dispute into a political flashpoint.
The joke came amid a broader atmosphere of resistance at the awards, where several artistes criticised Trump’s immigration policies and wore anti-ICE symbols.
Both Trump and Bill Clinton have previously denied any wrongdoing linked to Epstein, despite their names appearing in released documents.
