Nollywood Actress Lizzy Gold loses father on boxing day

Nollywood actress Lizzy Gold has announced the death of her father, who passed away on Boxing Day, December 26, 2025.

The award-winning actress shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional Facebook post that has since drawn widespread sympathy from fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Although the circumstances surrounding his death were not disclosed, Lizzy Gold described her late father as her “gist partner” and expressed deep shock and pain over the loss.

In the post, she questioned how she would cope without him, revealing the close bond they shared.

Following the announcement, social media users flooded her page with condolence messages, offering words of comfort and encouragement.

Many urged her to stay strong, noting that while losing a parent is one of life’s most painful experiences, time and support help ease the grief.

Lizzy Gold’s loss adds to a series of recent bereavements within Nollywood, prompting renewed conversations around grief, family and emotional support.
