Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, spread festive cheer this Christmas by distributing more than 2,000 bags of rice and other relief items across the district’s five local government areas: Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okene, Okehi, and Ogori-Magongo.
The initiative targeted vulnerable groups, including women’s associations, youth organisations, religious bodies, and the elderly, aiming to ease the burden of rising food prices and ensure families could celebrate the season comfortably.
Speaking during the distribution, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan highlighted that true leadership is measured by tangible improvements in citizens’ lives, emphasising the importance of compassion and service.
Community leaders hailed the exercise as one of the largest Christmas palliatives in the area.
This outreach is part of the senator’s broader constituency efforts, which include healthcare upgrades, water and solar-powered infrastructure projects, and empowerment programmes for women and youth.
Beneficiaries described the gesture as timely and reflective of a people-focused leadership approach.
