A Catholic priest has reacted to reports that former United States President Donald Trump authorised airstrikes against ISIS elements operating in northern Nigeria.
The reported operation allegedly targeted terrorist camps in parts of Sokoto State, weeks after Trump warned of decisive action against groups accused of attacking Christians in the region.
Reacting to the development, the priest, identified on Facebook as FADA Ebubedike, shared Trump’s statement announcing the strike and offered his personal reflection on its significance.
He expressed gratitude, stating that the action suggested global attention had finally been drawn to the security challenges faced by Nigerians, particularly Christian communities.
The priest described the development as a sign that the cries of affected citizens were being heard beyond Nigeria’s borders.
His post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with users debating the political, religious, and security implications of the reported airstrikes.
