Former vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has called on Peter Obi to return to the party if he fails to secure the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
Datti made the appeal during an interview on Trust TV, where he spoke on the unfolding political alignments and Obi’s prospects within the ADC.

“I have much respect for Peter Obi. If he doesn’t get the ADC ticket, he should come back to the Labour Party please.
“I will work for him and try to get him the ticket in the Labour Party. I will try and mend the ways between him and whoever he may have offended,” he said.
Datti, who was Obi’s running mate in the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party platform, expressed willingness to support his former principal and facilitate his reintegration into the party if necessary.
