Celebrity socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.
The businessman made the announcement via social media, revealing that he will run on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
According to him, aligning with the ruling party offers a stronger chance to influence decisions at the federal level.
Cubana Chief Priest said his political ambition is partly driven by a desire to advocate for the release of detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, arguing that meaningful intervention is difficult from the opposition.
Addressing his previous support for Labour Party candidate Peter Obi in 2023, he clarified that his involvement was tied to his role as a Special Adviser to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.
He described his 2027 bid as a transition from social influence to direct political engagement, adding that the South-East needs influential voices within government to advance its interests.
