A Nigerian woman living in the United States of America has appealed to President Donald Trump to grant immigrants more time to regularise their status or prepare to leave the country, should his administration insist on mass deportations.

In a viral video circulating on social media, the elderly woman expressed distress over what she described as the harsh treatment of immigrants by officers of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

She said she had been deeply affected by videos showing immigrants being arrested abruptly and, in her words, in “inhumane” ways, adding that such actions had allegedly resulted in the deaths of some migrants.

The woman argued that a sudden clampdown on immigrants without adequate notice was unfair, urging the US government to allow at least one year for affected individuals to make necessary arrangements.

She also maintained that immigrants play a critical role in the American economy, noting that many of the jobs they perform are roles US citizens are often unwilling or unable to take up.

In the video, she was seen saying: “I watched ome ICE videos yesterday with the video of the nurse that they just k!lled. It is very traumatizing, the way these people are treating people.

“President TrumP, if you want the immigrants to leave America, tell us! Just come out and say all immigrants, we want you out, whether you are a criminal or not a criminal, because these people (ICE) don’t care about ho you are. There are lots of citizens that are being traumatizing, treating them like animal and these people will be telling them ‘we are citizens’, they don’t care.

“I was so sad yesterday when I saw the video that my son sent to me, a teenager! and I have a teenage son…

“I felt like going to school and telling my son ‘’come, lets go and pack our belongings, we are going back to Nigeria’.

“If you want us to leave America, give us time let us gather ourselves, we will all leave.

“The work all immigrants are doing, you Americans cannot do them! All your people are in nursing homes, needing help…Not of you people could take care of them and you are treating people this way? Traumatizing, k!lling people on the streets in broad day light. The way these people are treating people is not fair!

“President Trump, tell us, we will leave! We are begging. Give us time, at least one year let us gather ourselves together. Our families are back home, praying for us. Are not praying for our corpses to be brought back home.

“ICE is just behaving the way they like. There is no ICE video I have seen that they spoke to people gentle’.
“President Trump, give us time…we will leave America for you.

“No problem, we will leave. At least we still have our country. Whether our country is bad or not, people are there, they are surviving. The fear in Nigeria is not this much. Enough is enough” she said
