Content creator and streamer Carter Efe has spoken about his relationship with Afrobeats star Wizkid, revealing both admiration and disappointment in a recent interview with BBC Pidgin.
He said he holds deep respect for Wizkid’s music, creative style, and overall artistry, describing him as one of his favourite performers in the industry.
However, Efe admitted that his issue lies with Wizkid’s personality, claiming that the support and love he showed the singer over the years were not reciprocated.
He stressed that despite this, his appreciation for Wizkid’s music remains unchanged.
Carter Efe’s comments are linked to his 2022 viral track “Machala,” a tribute song dedicated to Wizkid that gained massive attention and boosted his profile.
According to him, the song was never driven by financial gain or fame, but by genuine admiration for the Afrobeats superstar.
He noted that while he still values Wizkid’s craft, the lack of personal acknowledgment affected him.
