Hussaini Aliyu, chairman of Danko/Wasagu LGA in Kebbi State, has released the names of the 25 schoolgirls abducted during Monday’s attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga.

The list groups the missing students according to their class levels.

The students were seized after armed bandits stormed the school early Monday, killing the vice-principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, and injuring a security guard.

Kebbi State commissioner of police, Bello Sani, said additional tactical units have been deployed, working alongside the military and local vigilante groups.

He said the joint forces are combing suspected escape routes and nearby forests in a coordinated search-and-rescue effort aimed at locating the students and arresting the attackers.

Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has also ordered troops under Operation FANSAN YANMA to “leave no stone unturned,” directing them to sustain round-the-clock operations until all abducted schoolgirls are rescued.

President Bola Tinubu has requested continuous updates from Vice-President Kashim Shettima who visited Kebbi on his behalf as well as situation reports from the police and the Department of State Services (DSS).
