A woman has shared how simple acts of responsibility and understanding helped restore harmony in her marriage. She admitted that during arguments, she would stop cooking, expecting her husband to manage meals himself.
Despite this, he continued sending her allowance, food money, and even funds he had promised her father.
Reflecting on his consistency, she realised the impact of small but thoughtful gestures.
“Then one month, we had another fight… and as usual, I didn’t cook. The month ended, and he still sent my allowance… plus the full foodstuff money like he always does.
He even sent the money he had promised my dad. I was surprised. I asked him why he would still send food money when I hadn’t been cooking.
He simply said, ‘Because it’s my responsibility,’” she recalled.
Since then, she continues to cook even when upset, noting that it has improved communication, reduced quarrels, and strengthened their bond. She emphasised that small daily gestures can preserve marriages and prevent conflicts from escalating.
