The All Progressives Congress (APC) has screened five of the nine aspirants vying for its Osun State governorship ticket, as the party moves closer to its primary election scheduled for December 13.
The exercise, conducted by the party’s seven-member screening committee, took place on Wednesday in the nation’s capital.
Leading the list of those interviewed was former Deputy Governor and ex-APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
Others included development financier Babatunde Hareter Oralusi, former PDP leader Bar. Oyedotun Babayemi, business expert Dr. Akinade Akanmu Ogunbiyi, and immediate past Deputy Governor Benedict Olugboyega Alabi.

Thursday’s session is set to feature four remaining aspirants: former Managing Director of the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji; Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Adegoke Rasheed Okiki Adekunle (SAN); former lawmaker and the only female aspirant, Dr. (Mrs.) Mulikat Abiola Jimoh; and Senator Babajide Omoworare, vice-chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs.
APC National Organizing Secretary Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad Arugungu confirmed that the screening will conclude on Thursday, with results slated for release on Friday, December 5.
This will precede the scheduled screening appeal on December 6.
The screening committee is chaired by Barrister Obinna Uzor, with Hon. Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe serving as secretary. Other members include Hon. Ifeoluwa Arowosoge, Chief Margaret Duru, Princess Farida Odangi, and Hon. Ahmed Sani.
A five-member Screening Appeal Committee, headed by Senator Tolu Odeniyi, has Barrister Smart Iheazor as secretary. Its other members are Hon. Abdullahi Abdulkadir, Hon. Daniel Reyenieju, and Hon. Halima Hayatu.
