The African Action Congress (AAC) candidate in the November 8 Anambra State governorship election, Chioma Ifemeludike, has proclaimed herself the true winner of the contest, despite securing only 292 votes in the official results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
INEC declared Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) winner of the election with 422,664 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, came second with 99,445 votes.
Reacting to the outcome in a post on X, on Sunday, Ifemeludike wrote, “Integrity stands firm and higher than political deception. I’m a winner!”

The AAC flagbearer, who gained online attention during the campaign for her bold photos and unconventional media appearances, described her performance as a personal victory, saying it reflected honesty and courage in a system dominated by political giants.
Ifemeludike, whose campaign was marked by viral debates over her appearance and outspoken interviews, had promised to reform security in Anambra State if elected. She notably vowed to disband the controversial Agunechemba security outfit, describing it as partisan and ineffective.
“Restructuring security is a priority. My focus is on ensuring that safety measures serve the people and not partisan interests,” she said during one of her campaign appearances.
