The Senior Pastor of Harvesters International Church, Bolaji Idowu, has promised unemployed church workers of N50,000 monthly pay for three months.

According to the clergy, some of the affected church workers are unemployed, while some lost their employments.

He promised to pay them the N50,000 monthly until they’re able to get new jobs.

The clergy, fondly addressed as Pastor B, is known for hosting celebrities and youths in his church. He made the announcement in a recent church service.

He said: “This is a year we are making a difference — all leaders who are in between jobs. You used to have a job, but you lost it. For the next three months, we will e giving them N50,000 every month,” he said.

“All those who serve in the church in that capacity will receive N50,000 until they get their next jobs. All those leaders serving in the capacity I just mentioned, we will give you N50,000 to stabilise.

“One of the things the church should do is to be there for one another – to help stabilise,” he said.

“So, if you are in that category, you may want to see your pastor, the church administrator, and register. We trust the fact that you are honest.”

Pastor B who is also the convener of a yearly program, “Winepress”, shared a broader vision for national restoration, expressing a commitment to independently rebuild churches and schools destroyed by Boko Haram in northern Nigeria.

“One of my big dreams is that all of these churches and schools that Boko Haram bombed in the north, we will start rebuilding them. We will not wait for the government,” he added.
